Ethernet Switches

Ethernet Switches

An Ethernet Network Switch automatically divides the network into multiple segments, acts as a high-speed, selective bridge between the segments, and supports simultaneous connections of multiple pairs of computers which don't compete with other pairs of computers for network bandwidth. It accomplishes this by maintaining a table of each destination address and its port. When the Network Switch receives a packet, it reads the destination address from the header information in the packet, establishes a temporary connection between the source and destination ports, sends the packet on its way, and then terminates the connection.

Firewalls

Firewalls

A firewall allows or blocks traffic into and out of a private network or the user's computer. Firewalls are widely used to give users secure access to the Internet as well as to separate a company's public web server from its internal network. Firewalls are also used to keep internal network segments secure; for example, the accounts servers might be vulnerable to snooping from within the corporate network.

Hard Drives & Storage

Hard Drives & Storage

A "Hard Drive" is the mechanism that reads and writes data on a hard disk. Hard disk drives (HDDs) for PCs generally have seek times of about 12 milliseconds or less. Many disk drives improve their performance through a technique called caching. There are several interface standards for passing data between a hard disk and a computer. The most common are IDE and SCSI for internal drives but USB, firewire or ethernet for drives that sit externally to your computer.
IP Cameras & Webcams

IP Cameras & Webcams

IP cameras or network cameras are deployed in thousands of commercial, retail, education and government applications because they are reliable and more cost effective than CCTV systems. They are also suitable for the home environment.
Keyboards & Mice

Keyboards & Mice

A computer Keyboard is a data input device that has been modelled with the arrangement of keys the same as a type writer.
A mouse is a hand held button operated input device that when moved along a flat service will move an indicator accross the computer monitor corresponding to it's own movement.
KVM

KVM

A KVM Switch is a box that allows one keyboard, monitor (video) and mouse to switch between two or more separate computers thereby allowing two or more computers to be controlled from the same keyboard, mouse, video (monitor) combination. Often used in multiple server environments.

Laptop Computers

Laptop Computers

A small, portable computer -- small enough that it can sit on your lap. Nowadays, laptop computers are more frequently called notebook computers, though technically laptops are somewhat smaller in size than notebooks.
Memory

Memory

A rewritable memory chip that holds its content without power. Flash evolved from the EEPROM chip, and its name was coined by Toshiba to express how much faster it could be erased ("in a flash").

MP3 Players

MP3 Players

(MPEG Audio Layer 3) An audio compression technology that is part of the MPEG-1 and MPEG-2 specifications. MP3 compresses CD-quality sound by a factor of roughly 10, while retaining most of the original fidelity; for example, a 40MB CD track is turned into a 4MB MP3 file.
PC Cases & Peripherals

Here you can find product that you use to build, customise or upgrade your existing computer. From sound cards, power supplies and fans to the cases.
Printers

Print Servers

Print Servers

A print server is a software application, network device or computer that manages print requests and makes printer queue status information available to end users and network administrators. Print servers are used in both large enterprise and small or home office (SOHO) networks.
Satelite Navigation

Satelite Navigation

Satellite navigation systems use radio time signals transmitted by satellites to enable mobile receivers on the ground to determine their exact location. The relatively clear line of sight between the satellites and receivers on the ground, combined with ever-improving electronics, allows satellite navigation systems to measure location to accuracies on the order of a few metres in real time.
Wired Routers

Wired Routers

Routers are physical devices that join multiple wired or wireless networks together. Technically, a wired or wireless router is a Layer 3 gateway, meaning that the wired/wireless router connects networks (as gateways do), and that the router operates at the network layer of the OSI model.
Home networkers often use an Internet Protocol (IP) wired or wireless router, IP being the most common OSI network layer protocol.
Wireless Network

Wireless Network

We supply wireless network products from leading manufacturers like Netgear, D-Link, Buffalo & Linksys. These wireless network products can be used in a variety of configurations, just remember that they need to be able to talk to each other, therefore have to be of the same type or standard.

If you are unsure of what you need and would like some help, you can either post on the user forum, send us an email or both! Wireless networks are a neat and easy way of linking all sorts of devices together like desktop pc's, laptops, printers even your X-Box. Ideal for around the home or office, without need for messy cabling.
